Buttock lift

With a buttock lift (the Brazilian butt lift is not a real lift since no skin is removed) extra skin is removed and the subcutaneous tissue is remodeled to optimize the contour of the buttocks.

Waves and dimples can be improved down to the infragluteal fold at the junction to the thigh. A long infragluteal fold can also be improved and a more youthful shape be obtained. The procedure can be performed as a single procedure or as in cases of massive weight loss in the context of a lower body lift (circumferential abdominoplasty, belt lipectomy). Also, it is possible to perform a combination with implants to further enhance the shape and obtain a firm, youthful buttock.

Depending of the amount of the skin resection, the procedure is ambulatory or requires a short hospital stay (1-2 days). It is performed under a light general anesthesia. The incision lines are placed as much as possible in the bikini line for maximal concealment.  Extra skin and fat tissue are removed. By repositioning the subcutaneous fat in specific locations, the shape and form of the buttock can further be improved and the waist line accentuated.

A sensation of numbness is frequent directly below the scar, however does not concern the sensibility on the zone where you are sitting on. In rare cases, a hematoma, seroma or infection can require a revision surgery. This however, does not affect the final result. Wound healing complications are rare if the procedure is correctly planned and performed. For the first 4-6 weeks a light compression garment is worn to support the tissues and to improve healing.

Daily activities can be resumed after 14-21 days after the operation. Taking a shower is possible after 1-14 days after surgery. Intensive work out and sport activities should be postponed to 4-6 weeks after the intervention when the compression garment is no longer required. In the case of unsightly thick scar or swelling, a small revision can be indicated and be performed earliest 6 months after the operation.

As with any cosmetic procedure, costs for a buttock lift can vary widely and depend on the extend of the planned procedure, the skin quality, age and so forth. Our fees are based on the exact type and extent of the surgical procedure planned and the chosen form of anesthesia, i.e. general- or local anesthesia.

The fees are preoperatively discussed and agreed with you and can be considered as a flat rate including the surgeons and anesthesia fees, the operation room cost, compression garments and the follow-up consultations. The fees are due before surgery.

In general, most health insurances do not cover cosmetic surgery and buttock lifts. In selected cases a demand for cost reimbursement by your health insurance can clarify this.
